Friday Run Down

Good evening everyone! Here is a quick rundown of life in the Garris household:

We have had a very busy week. Peanut started basketball tryouts. She had practice on Wednesday. She has a hard time making a basket. She is so little and she is playing with boys which is a little scary, but she holds her own.

Lugnut is finally staying afterschool getting extra help. This after she tried everything she thought of to get out of it. Now she kind of likes the idea of coming home without homework. I do too!

Mako Man has been working both out of town and at the store. He is going fishing on Sunday so don't feel too sorry for him.

I have been working in the store, tutoring at night and working rebound with students during the day. Tomorrow is chaffeur the kiddies day and then it is back to the store to work. Today I went out shopping with my cousin and my aunt and they treated me to lunch at Lone Cedar. YUM. I tried to ask the cook how he makes his chicken with a parmesan creme sauce, but he wouldn't budge. If anyone know the recipe, let me know, it is really good.

Peanut has been jamming on Guitar Hero and is now almost through the first set on medium. I am so glad to see one of the girls is musical. Music is a big part of my life and it is nice to share that with someone in the family.

Lugnut has been home sick the last day and a half with a sore throat and upset stomach. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Rachel asked for great gift ideas. At the end of the summer I make salsa in a crock pot. It is really good and it is a great gift paired with tortilla chips. You can even get the gourmet kind and do different colors.

Great idea with the salsa, Carol! Do you can it or just give it away fresh? I need to make a few gifts this year and I still haven't quite decided. That's not very good planning, is it??

My son informed me that he has two projects due quite soon, so it looks like some of my time will be helping him get supplies, etc. this weekend. Hmmm. Time to get creative on the gifts....I'll keep you posted.

Hi Rachel Anne,

I can the salsa. I usually make 2 batches because the longer it is before you use it, the hotter it gets. This year everyone is getting "hot." I also made post it note holders for teacher gifts. I will post those later.

CL Cheryl,

I LOVE Guitar Hero, I am hoping that we will be able to afford the World Tour for PS2 after Christmas as a gift for both girls. Their birthdays are in February.

Sounds like a busy week. Some days it seems to never end.

Love the salsa idea. I really to be more creative, like that, in our gift giving.

This was the first year I made the chocolate covered pretzels. Can you believe it? Can't believe I've missed out on these all my life.

Love the names you call your children.
:-)
this will last a lifetime. . .
I'm a pushover for ANYthing with alfredo sauce - I'd flirt with the chef right in front of my husband to get the secret. . .
;-)
Have a GREAT Weekend & Be Blessed!
